When considering a cosmetic change, it is natural to want to understand how the result might look. Digital Smile Design brings that conversation onto a screen: images and measurements help you discuss your goals with your dentist before treatment begins.
From photographs to a visual proposal
Planning may start with photographs of your face and smile, a clinical examination and digital scans where useful. Your dentist assesses tooth proportions in relation to your gums, lips and facial features. This forms the basis of a proposal you can discuss and adjust.
At DAVINCI Dental, we use digital planning to discuss the proposed appearance together. You can show us what you like, what feels too much and what you would prefer to keep.
What it can clarify before treatment
A preview helps you discuss the shape, length and apparent alignment of your teeth. It can make options easier to compare and communication between you, your dentist and the dental laboratory clearer. For some plans, your dentist may suggest a physical mock-up if appropriate.
Clinical studies of certain digital workflows have reported greater satisfaction in the cosmetic treatments studied. These findings do not guarantee the same outcome for every patient or procedure.
A simulation is a plan, not the final result
The image on screen sets a direction. The actual result depends on your teeth and gums, bite, materials and the limits of each treatment. Sometimes decay or gum problems need treatment first, or the stages need to follow a different order.
At your consultation, we discuss which parts of the proposal are achievable, the alternatives, how long each stage takes and how to care for your restorations. Your choice takes account of the appearance you want as well as dental health and function.
