Implantology

According to the American Academy of Dental Implantology, the Dental Implant is
more efficient and the only Correct solution to replace one or more lost teeth, restoring functionality and aesthetics in proportion to 98%
natural teeth.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is an artificial root. made of pure titanium, which is inserted into the mandibular or maxillary bone and which integrates completely into its own bone structure, successfully replacing the missing tooth without affecting other teeth.

What is a complete dental implant made of?

The actual implant is a piece of pure titanium 99, 95 % that has the shape of a screw. The dental implant plays the role of an artificial root and is inserted into the bone. This is the base of the tooth and can support one or more artificial teeth (crowns)

The prosthetic abutment connects the screw and the artificial tooth (crown). These abutments are specific to each type of implant and it is extremely important that they are original and not from other manufacturers than the company from which the implant was used. A poor adaptation even at the micron level can lead, over time, to inflammation of the peri-implant tissues and the loss of the dental implant.

The crown represents the aesthetic, visible part of the artificial tooth. This is made in the laboratory by the dental technician, so that it is as close as possible in shape and color to that of the tooth. It can be a metal-ceramic crown or a Zirconium crown.

The benefits of dental implants

Losing one or more teeth can be a major stressor and can have long-term negative effects on self-confidence and social life. That is why it is important to be properly informed when we make the decision to follow a dental implant treatment, to avoid the risks of an unsuccessful intervention.
